Hello. I'm Beth Carroll. Welcome to New Hampshire Outlook.
In a few weeks, the nation will commemorate the 3rd anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks
on New York and Washington.
For many, it will be a painful reminder of what was lost --- including 2 NH women --who became widows
that fateful day.
Each has dealt with grief in their own way. We begin with Cheryl McGuinness, whose husband
was a pilot on the first plane that slammed into the World Trade Center.
McGuinness, whose written about her experiences -- sat down with Richard Ager to talk about her new book, "Beauty Beyond the Ashes."

Return to index of stories...
Two of the hijacked aircraft that crashed into New York City's World Trade Center towers on September 11-th left from Boston.
That route is now being re-claimed by a group known as "Stonewalk."
Eclectic and determined, the people of Stonewalk are travelling by foot from Boston to New York City. It's part of a peace vigil.
But, as Chip Neal found out when he met up with them in New Haven, CT
this is no ordinary walk.

"Stonewalk" is scheduled to wheel into New York City in early September during the Republican National Convention.
The stone will then be blessed on September 11-th-- 3 years after the deadly terrorist attacks that have so changed our nation.
